Background Easter Poems Main Poetry Index Younger Children 2

Now where should I look to find Easter eggs?

    Could anyone give me a clue?

But there in the shop, well guess what I found?

    A box of six eggs and all blue!

The eggs were then boiled until they were hard;

   Then out came my paint and my brush.

I painted my eggs with patience and love

     And took time for there wasn’t a rush.

At Easter, my eggs were quite proudly displayed

     In a dish for my family to see,

And everyone took one, and said, one and all,

    That the best eggs were given by me.
