LOVE'S

JUST A METAPHOR

It’s raining cats and dogs

And my bedroom’s in a tip

But I’m jumping high with joy

And I’m running a tight ship.

Now I’m pulling up my socks

And I’m getting on my skates,

For I’m running out of time

     And a big event awaits.

I’ll be meeting lovely Laura

Who’s the apple of my eye,

But I’m walking on thin ice

     And I’m feeling rather shy.

She’s the sun that’s in my sky

She’s the light that’s in my life

But . . . .

Tonight I’ll pop the question

“Would you like to be my wife?”
