ODE TO THE APOSTROPHE

A      A poor and oft forgotten friend

P      Put on this earth, but to what end?

O      Often despised and viewed with scorn

S       So little loved, we soon might mourn.

T       To you who look condemned to die

R       Rise up and fight – don't sit and cry.

O       Oblivious of your situation,

P       People just need education.

H       Here's hoping we don't say farewell -

E       End his abuse and wish him well.

 

         Children, from an early age, may we

 

               Learn to love the apostrophe
