Younger Children - Page Heading Heading

Ten tiny tadpoles –

    Had a dreadful fate:

A trout came up and grabbed two

    And then there were eight.

Eight tiny tadpoles,

    Learning how to dive.

A kingfisher ate three of them

    And then there were five.

Five tiny tadpoles

   Swimming fast and free.

A heron took two in his beak

And so this left only three.

Three tiny tadpoles

    Warming in the sun.

Their mummy ate them by mistake

     And now there are none.
